AN EVENING WITH
SIR GARETH EDWARDS CBE

Wednesday 23rd October 2024, 7.15pm

Johnson Hall,

Millfield School, Street, Somerset BA16 0YD

Surely there is probably not a more iconic rugby player than Sir Gareth Edwards and even better he is also a Millfield School Alumni too.

One of the stars of the great Welsh side of the 1970s, he made a then record 53 consecutive appearances for Wales scoring 22 tries.

As well as for Wales, Sir Gareth played 195 times for Cardiff RFC and 10 times for the British and Irish Lions on three tours being part of the only Lions side to win a series in New Zealand in 1971 and then 3 years later was part of the "Invincibles" that went unbeaten in South Africa.

If that wasn't enough, he of course, appeared many times for the Barbarians and was the scorer of "That Try" against the All Blacks in 1973.

In 2003, he was voted the "greatest of all time" by a poll of fellow rugby players.

This will be an evening not to miss for any rugby fan - young or old as we chat to Sir Gareth about his career and his views on the current game. There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A during the second half of the evening.

Tickets are priced at £25 with a limited number of VIP tickets available at £60 which will include seats in the front two rows plus an opportunity to meet Sir Gareth, a photo opportunity and ONE signature from the man himself.

PLEASE NOTE THERE MAY BE SOME ADULT LANGUAGE
